I know that during this time it can be hard to look at the brightside, or moreover even find the brightside. Being in this new situation has everyone feeling a little down. I bet if I asked anyone for one word they would use to describe how they're feeling right now, they would say “bored”. While it's easy to get caught up in what's going on in our own lives, it's important to reflect and think about people who are not lucky or privileged to be living comfortably during this time. While I was doing my own reflecting, I decided to do something to help people who were struggling to obtain food. With the help of a youth group, we created over 300 individually packed snack bags filled with things like applesauce, protein bars, water bottles, etc that we could give to UP Louisville, a day shelter for homeless women and children. When I went with my car trunk full to drop the bags off (social distancing was practiced!!), I got to speak with some of the people at UP Louisville and realized how much people who couldn't get their hands on food and water were struggling and needed help. What I learned from this experience was that I am thankful to be bored. I am thankful that my problems are miniscule and that I don't have to worry about things that mean life or death, such as having food and water. Lets all remember that even though social distancing does suck, and it's irritating to not be able to see our friends, be in school, playing our sports, etc, there are people who have it worse than us, so lets be thankful for that today and everyday. -Anj
